Visitor visas in Edmonton

Applications and extensions for family visits and travel, explained step by step.

Overview

A visitor visa allows a person from outside Canada to come for a visit, whether to see family, travel or attend an event. Some travellers need a visa and others only need an electronic travel authorization, so the first question is which one applies to your passport and your plans.

We help you prepare an application that tells a clear, truthful story: who is travelling, why, for how long and what ties them to home. We also help families inviting parents and grandparents, including the super visa, and visitors who need to extend their stay while in Canada.

Who this suits

  • Families inviting relatives to visit Edmonton
  • Parents and grandparents who may qualify for a super visa
  • Visitors who want to extend their stay
  • Travellers who need to understand whether a visa or an authorization applies

What to prepare

  • A valid passport for each traveller
  • A letter of invitation from the host in Canada, where one is helpful
  • Proof of the host's status and address
  • Evidence of the traveller's ties to home, such as work or family
  • A travel plan and proof of funds for the visit
  • Medical insurance and exam records where the route asks for them

How it works

  1. Consultation

We confirm who is travelling, where from and for how long.

  2. Visa or authorization

We explain which document applies to the traveller.

  3. Document checklist

You receive a list for the host and for the traveller.

  4. Application

We prepare the forms, review them with you and submit the application.

  5. After you apply

We help respond to requests and plan extensions if they are needed.

Common questions

No. A super visa is a separate route for parents and grandparents with its own requirements, including conditions on the host. We explain which one suits your family.

Often a visitor can apply to extend before their status ends, but you should apply early and the rules depend on the person. Bring the passport and current documents to the consultation.

A refusal letter explains the reasons given. We can review it with you and explain what options may exist, but we cannot promise a different result.
