Who we help in Edmonton
River Valley Immigration Group works with individuals and families who live in Edmonton or are planning to move here. Some of our clients are newcomers who arrived recently and want to understand their next step. Others have lived here for years and are preparing for a change in status, a family application or citizenship.
We also help students, people planning to visit family, and relatives who live abroad but have a connection to the city. If you are not sure whether your situation fits, a short conversation is usually enough to find out.
People often come to us with a single question and find that two or three steps are connected. We aim to map the whole path early, so that a decision about a work permit, for example, is made with the later steps in mind.
The communities we serve
Our work covers Edmonton and the communities around it: St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Leduc, Spruce Grove and Fort Saskatchewan. Many of our clients live in these communities and work or study in the city, so we plan around where you actually are, not only where our office is.
If you live outside this list, contact us anyway. We work with people across Alberta and from abroad, and distance rarely changes the way an application is prepared.

How meetings work
You can meet us in person at our Edmonton office, by phone or by video, whichever is easiest for you. The conversation covers the same ground in each case: your history, your goals and what the next steps would be.
Before the meeting we ask you to send a short summary of your situation and any documents you already have. After the meeting you receive a written checklist, so you leave with a clear picture of what to gather and in what order.
Rules and requirements change, so we confirm everything against the government's current published information at the meeting rather than working from memory.
Bring a family member or a friend if that makes the meeting easier. Many clients do, especially when a decision affects the whole household.
